  1. Make ready 250 gm Bittergourd or karela
  2. Get 2 onion
  3. Take 2 tomatoes
  4. Make ready 4 Green chilli
  5. Make ready To taste salt
  6. Prepare 1/2 tsp red chilli powder
  7. Take 1/2 tsp turmeric powder
  8. Get 1/2 tsp garam masala
  9. Make ready 1/2 tsp fennel seeds powder
  10. Take 1/2 tsp coriander seeds powder
  11. Make ready 1/2 tsp amchor (dry mango) powder
  12. Make ready 4 tbsp cooking oil

Stuffed Bitter Gourd (Bharwan karela) - North Indian Style made using basic pantry dry spices. A vegetable not loved by many but if you love slightly bitter foods, this dish is for you! Karela (Bitter Gourd) is a vegtable often not loved by many. At our place here, Ronak absolutely hates it and I on the other hand absolutely love it!

Instructions to make Stuffed Karela:
  1. Peel karela. Slit it from centre. Coat it's centre with salt. Sprinkle salt on peel also. Keep aside for 4 hours. After 4 hours, wash it in running water for 4 times and squeeze it each time to remove it's bitterness.
  2. Hear cooking oil in a wok. Put whole karela in it and shallow fry on low flame.
  3. Peel wash and Chop onion, tomatoes.
  4. Flip the sides of karela of and on till they turn golden brown.
  5. When all the karela are done remove it in a bowl.
  6. Now in this karahi add karela peel in remaining cooking oil and saute for 5-7 minutes. Now Add chopped onions, salt, red chilli powder, turmeric powder, garam masala, coriander & fennel seeds powder, mango powder and mix well.
  7. Add grated tomato puree. Sauté till oil leaves the karahi. Now add whole green chillis and shallow fried karelas and toss it gently so thar karela absorbs tomatoes and become soft.
  8. Now switch off the flame. Fill that karela peel in whole karela slit. Serve hot with chapatti.

Karela (Bitter Gourd) is a vegtable often not loved by many. At our place here, Ronak absolutely hates it and I on the other hand absolutely love it! Karela stuffed with a spiced tangy onion mix. How to make Stuffed Karela: Take small sized Bitter gourds. Cut the ends of the bitter gourd then scrap them.
